Transcription from Microphone, Read-Only Project Protection, and More News in Beey AI 1.34

A new Beey AI version 1.34 has been released!

Starting with this version, you can transcribe not only from files but also directly from your computer’s or phone’s microphone. We’ve also improved speaker separation based on the number of speakers, the use of AI tools across multiple projects, and protection of transcripts when several editors are working simultaneously.
Try the new features yourself!

New: Microphone Function in the Transcription Modal Window
  • After clicking the Transcribe button, you can now choose Microphone as the transcription source in addition to file upload or link. This allows instant recording from your device’s microphone—for example, for dictation or interviews.
  • The transcription appears in the project almost immediately, with only a few seconds’ delay, and you can stop it (end microphone recording) directly in the project editing window.
  • Don’t forget to select the correct Input Device and allow microphone access in your browser.
Expanded AI Tools Across Multiple Projects

Smart text edits from the AI Tools section can now be applied to multiple projects at once. Simply select the projects you want to apply the AI tool to in the project list and click the magic wand icon in the top toolbar.

Improved Speaker Separation Based on Number of Speakers

If you have a recording with a known number of speakers, but the project displays a different number, you can now batch-recalculate speakers to a specific amount once the transcription is finished. You’ll find this feature in the editor sidebar under Edit speakers > Change number of speakers.
It’s best to make this adjustment before editing the project or speaker labels.

Protection Against Project Overwrite During Simultaneous Editing

Projects within teams or shared between multiple users are now protected against overwrites by others. If a shared project is opened by a user while another editor is already making changes, it will open in read only mode. This protects your project from conflicting simultaneous edits and potential loss of recent changes.
If you are certain that no one else is using the project at that moment, you can take over control.

New Option for Transparent Teams

Any user who manages a multi-member team can now request to convert it into an Open Team. In such a team, all members can see and edit all other members’ projects.
When switching to an Open Team, already transcribed projects remain private. All future projects will be marked as Team Project and shared across the team automatically.
