Czech AI Solution Implemented by Austria Press Agency’s Subsidiary

Czech AI solution has been successfully implemented by the media intelligence company APA-Comm, a full subsidiary company of APA – Austria Press Agency. The Beey Workflow system by Newton Technologies is now available for the monitoring of podcasts, TV and radio broadcasts in Austria as well. This partnership may become an inspiration for other companies in Europe.

Beey Workflow supports 20 languages

The Beey Workflow system from NEWTON Technologies in Prague integrates speech technologies such as automatic speech-to-text or speaker identification into the process of recording, analyzing, and archiving audiovisual content. In addition to English and Czech, it also handles German recordings perfectly. The accuracy of German speech recognition in Beey Workflow is one of the best on the world market. The results and learnings of using Beey by APA-Comm will be incorporated into further development of the German language model, as a continuous optimization takes place.

NEWTON Technologies CEO, Petr Herian, elaborates on the history and the future prospects of the product: “We initially developed Beey Workflow for the internal needs of Newton Media Group in the Czech Republic, Central and Southeast Europe. When we realized that our solution surpassed most similar products in quality, we offered the system to other companies. The APA-Comm deployment is the first major implementation outside Newton Media’s markets. More deployments are expected to follow in the near future.”

APA-Comm is the joint brand of the two APA subsidiary companies APA-OTS and APA-DeFacto, which are market leaders in several communication service areas in Austria. By the end of last year, the Beey Workflow system has become part of their monitoring workflows and is in use for the processing of radio, TV and podcast content. With this AI-based tool, APA-Comm is now able to even better create (fully) automated transcripts of audio content, generate subtitles or translations.

“I’m happy that we are using the Beey Workflow system as an internal production tool at APA-Comm. It enables my team even better to offer a monitoring in almost real-time from over 40 radio and TV channels, as well as podcasts,” says Klemens Ganner, CEO at APA-Comm. “We see that Beey provides added value wherever spoken language is transcribed into written form. Accordingly, in addition to our internal use, we plan to offer the Beey app exclusively on the Austrian market to PR specialists, journalists, and other customers by integrating it in the PR-Desk platform,” explains Ganner about this future step. APA-Comm customers will then have easy access to create transcripts or automatic captions with the Beey Editor.
